The Real Answers, From a Company That's Actually Done the Work
What kind of damage do you handle?
We restore homes after water, fire, smoke, mold, and storm damage. We also offer full reconstruction, remodeling, leak detection, structural drying, odor removal, and ventilation. If your home’s been hit hard, we’re the team that puts it back together-safely and properly.
Are you licensed and insured?
Absolutely. Ochoa Restoration Group is fully licensed and insured to operate in the state of Texas.
We’ve been in this business for over 40 years. We know what we’re doing, and we stand behind our
work.
Do you only work in Houston?
Houston is our home base, but we serve most of the surrounding areas too-including Katy, Cypress,
The Woodlands, Richmond, and more. If you’re nearby and you need help, give us a call.
How fast can you respond to a water emergency?
We’re on call 24/7 and usually respond within a few hours; faster if you’re close by. Our AI voice assistant, Lucia, will answer even if it’s 2 AM, and we’ll dispatch a crew right away.
What should I do until you arrive?
Turn off the water source if you can do so safely. Avoid using any electrical appliances in wet areas.
Don’t try to rip up carpet or flooring-sometimes that causes more harm than good. We’ll handle it
when we arrive.
How long does it take to dry out a home?
It depends on the damage, but typically 3-5 days using commercial-grade air movers and
dehumidifiers. We monitor everything daily until it’s 100% dry-not just what looks dry on the surface.
Is smoke damage really that serious?
Yes. Smoke particles and soot settle deep into walls, furniture, and HVAC systems. If they’re not
professionally removed, they can cause long-term odor and even health issues.
Can you get rid of the smell after a fire?
We can. We use proven odor removal treatments, air scrubbers, and deep-cleaning methods to
eliminate smoke odors from your home and belongings. If it’s salvageable, we’ll save it.
What about water damage from putting out the fire?
We take care of that too. Fire and water damage usually go hand-in-hand. Our team handles
both-structural drying, cleaning, and full restoration-under one roof.
How do I know if I have mold?
You might see discoloration on walls or ceilings, notice a musty smell, or feel symptoms like
coughing or headaches when indoors. If you’re suspicious, don’t wait-mold spreads fast. We can
inspect it and give you a straight answer.
Is it safe to stay in the home during mold cleanup?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no-it depends on the size of the issue and where it’s located. We’ll walk
you through it and let you know what’s safest for your family.
Can you clean my clothes and furniture after mold or smoke damage?
Yes. We offer contents restoration and can save many items using special cleaning and
deodorization techniques. If something’s not salvageable, we’ll help you document it for insurance.
Do you work with my insurance company?
We work with all major carriers and have decades of experience navigating the claims process. We
know how to document damage, speak the insurance language, and help you get what you’re owed.
Will you bill the insurance company or do I pay out of pocket?
In most cases, we bill your insurance directly. If there’s anything not covered or if you don’t have
insurance, we’ll talk with you up front and offer payment options.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. We’ll come out, assess the damage, and give you a clear scope of work and next steps-no
charge, no pressure.
Do you handle everything start to finish?
We do. From the moment you call, we manage cleanup, drying, repairs, and reconstruction. You
won’t be chasing contractors or managing a dozen people. One team. One plan. Done right.
